Founder and chief executive officer Andrew Jessett (34) established MineWare in 2005 after independently creating and commercialising the world’s most advanced dragline monitor system, Pegasys. He continues to oversee the company’s growth and development in delivering sophisticated dragline and shovel monitoring technologies to the Australian and international surface mining industry.

Well recognised as one of Australia’s leading mining technology innovators, Andrew brings to MineWare more than a decade of experience. He has been actively involved in the advancement of Australia’s dragline and shovel monitoring systems, including the pioneering Universal Dig and Dump (UDD) dragline technology.

As CEO, Andrew maintains responsibility for MineWare's strategic management and operational performance, as well as the company’s core functions of financial management, human resources, marketing and international business, and occupational health and safety. He is the primary driver behind MineWare’s research and product development efforts, spearheading the creation of new, innovative technology solutions for the global mining industry.

Widely recognised by business, industry and academia for his contribution to the mining industry, Andrew was awarded the 2010 Ernst and Young – Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award (Queensland), the Mercedes Benz Young Business Person of the Year Award at the 2009 Lord Mayor’s Business Awards and a prestigious, national 2010 Clunies Ross Award celebrating his achievements in the application of science and technology.

Andrew has several tertiary qualifications in Engineering and IT including a Bachelor of Engineering (Mech & Space), Masters of Engineering Science, Post Graduate Certificate in Information Technology and a Masters of Business Administration at Queensland University of Technology.

 

JAKE HUTCHIN

General Manager, Product Development

With 14 years of experience managing and delivering information technology solutions to markets in Australia and Europe, Jake has an enthusiastic approach to analysing, solving and implementing IT solutions to drive business improvements that increase productivity increases and reduce maintenance/costs. 

As General Manager - Product Development, Jake is responsible for the design and development of all MineWare products. Executing the full product lifecycle management, from concept to market, Jake is charged with managing product engineering and software development teams to produce MineWare's advanced suite of data and video technology.

Jake continuously assesses MineWare's product development practises and has implemented modern processes to maximise team efficiency, particularly in the areas of software building, testing, documentation and deployment automation, while striving for the highest levels of quality and reliability. 

With MineWare since the company's inception in 2005, Jake has gained extensive mining industry knowledge. As the key implementer of technology into the customer domain Jake works closely with people from all levels of the mining industry, from machine operators to superintendents and corporate management teams. This ensures MineWare's products meet end user requirements, corporate information management compliance and strategic direction. 

Jake is focused on continuing MineWare's reputation as a dependable supplier of both on-board and remote machine monitoring, and is excited about the continuing adoption of advanced technology solutions into the mining industry. 

 

ARRAN ROBERTSON

General Manager, Operations

As General Manager, Operations, Arran Robertson oversees all operational activity across the MineWare business. Responsible for the consistent delivery of MineWare systems to a local and international client base, Arran manages the end-to-end processes of product build, installation, deployment, end user training and product support – remotely and in the field.

Arran joined the MineWare team in 2006 as Project Manager before being appointed to his current role in 2007. Arran brings to MineWare an extensive background in the electrical field, having worked across all facets of the trade for more than 25 years. 

Having spent six years as Branch Manager for MasterTrade, part of the PDL Group of Companies (now Schnieder Electric Group), Arran managed a team of employees and maintained responsibility for sales and profit, leadership control, motivation and training, and the implementation of all new policies including company ISO levels.

He also worked as a self employed subcontractor with NZ Welder Repairs Services Ltd. In this role, he coordinated the maintenance, construction, installation and repair of a broad range of plant machinery and equipment in the commercial and industrial maintenance sector.

 

MARK CONNOLLY

General Manager, Commercial

With a strong background spanning more than 25 years in the mining and materials handling industries, Mark Connolly is one of Australia’s leading engineering professionals.

As General Manager, Commercial, Mark oversees the commercial arm of MineWare’s business, supporting organisational growth, business development, sales and marketing. He plays a lead role in MineWare’s export strategy, identifying and progressing opportunities in international markets. Mark also provides the strategic direction, and has overall responsibility, for the development of MineWare's subsidiary companies in both the USA and South Africa.

Mark has extensive knowledge and experience of dragline operations gained through his role with BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA). As the project director for BMA's UDD dragline program, Mark oversaw the replacement of major structural, mechanical and control system components. He provided operations and maintenance support to the six UDD draglines across BMA mine sites, developed UDD technologies and work practices to improve the structural integrity of dragline booms and masts. Managing a team of engineers, field service engineers and technicians, Mark provided key technical direction for control system remediation works that successfully integrated the UDD technologies to improve both equipment availability and productivity. In this role Mark developed a passion to assist the mining industry to increase the productivity of dragline and truck/shovel operations which led him to join the MineWare team in 2009. 

Mark also brings to the team significant international experience in senior engineering roles. He has worked on major engineering, mining and materials handling projects in Australia, USA, Philippines, Hong Kong, Nauru and PNG, with industry leaders including GHD and Hatch (formerly BHP Engineering). His expertise encompasses all aspects of the engineering process from initial concept definition and the establishment of technical frameworks and design processes, through to responsibility for related planning, budgeting and administrative activities. 

Mark's multi-discipline engineering experience, mining sector knowledge and strong working relationships with mine sites and corporate leadership teams is invaluable to the MineWare team and its clients. His dedication to business improvement and customer service continues to support the company's performance and growth in global markets. 

 

MARK GRAHAME

General Manager, Business Services

As the newest member of the MineWare management team, joining in 2011, Mark brings with him experience and skills in international business operations. In his role of General Manager, Business Services, Mark is focussed on implementing and facilitating MineWare's business strategies for growth into new markets globally. 

Mark's role encompasses all aspects of financial management, business processes, workplace health and safety, human resource management and the provision of internal services support to all functional areas within the MineWare group, allowing for better focus on serving our customers. 

He draws from his broad global experience in business management from the safety, automotive, health, industrial chemicals and information technology industries to implement change and continuous improvement in alignment with MineWare's strategic plan.

Mark is results-oriented and focussed on delivering compliance and continuous improvement to MineWare's business performance throughout all facets of the business including safety, people, financials, communications and intra-business operations. 

Mark's success in previous roles in various industry sectors and geographic locations combined with his MBA gained with honours make him an important part in shaping MineWare's future direction and culture.
